About Us
The Trailhead
The first Actualize event began as a small party coming out of Covid. The intention was to take all the hobbies that friends were working on and encourage them to be taken further or to be shown off in non-judgmental space. Milestones are important and we wanted to give a tangible place and time where people could bring what they’ve been working on and let others see its development. Also to blow off a couple years of built up steam on the dance floor.
Something was sparked there, we’re not sure quite what it was, but we recognized that there is a different level that gets reached when everyone buys in and makes the effort to add to a space the best they can. Openness to take in other peoples work and share your own creates a self feeding machine that moves us all further. That sort of group inspiration and love is very powerful and we want more of it.
The second Actualize event came in the form of Tygh Dye 2021. We were blessed with the opportunity to throw down on some seriously sacred ground and made some more connection, brought in some new genres, and got some more art involved. The line up grew and we got a sneak peak into a wide range of talented local artists, strengthening a bridge from the East and West of the Cascade Range.
The Destination
Anyone who has been in the scene in the PNW, and Oregon specifically, knows some of the massive losses we have seen in terms of our festival events. Sasquatch, What the Fest, Music Fest NW, Kaleidoscope, String Summit (last year in 2022). For a place with as much of a rich musical history, our festival options have been limited.
Actualize hopes to fill some of the void that was left by those giants, mixing limited annual headliners with a focus on local talent. The goal here is to make something long term that becomes owned by the community, provides a sustainable home for Electronic music and other genres, and attendees feel they can grow with as they age.
As we have said; we want this to be a collaborative vision. If you have input or ideas we hope you will share and take part in creating what can be a gift to our community. Submit a information requests using our contact page or via the instagram link.
